|
• IMPORTANT DATES FOR GIC (HEALTH INSURANCE) ENROLLMENT: • February and March 2009 – Please gather together the information described in Michael Gallagher’s letter of February 2, 2009. This is the time for retirees to get copies of (certified) marriage certificates, divorce decrees, dependent information, and the latest 1099 from the Social Security Administration. See Page 2 of the letter, "Required Documents" for the items that pertain to you and your family. • Booklets that describe each plan along with rate information and enrollment forms will be mailed to each retiree before the Open Enrollment Period. The Open Enrollment Period runs from April 13, 2009 through May 15, 2009. • May 4th 11:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. – Health Fair, Weymouth High School. You should attend if you are undecided about a plan, or wish to speak with representatives from the different plans being offered. Most retirees will find they can enroll by mail or in person at the Retirement Office. The Retirement Office will be closed on that day – Ms. Anti and Ms. Silva will be assisting retirees at the Health Fair. • Please visit our website homepage, www.weymouthretirement.com for a link to the GIC site. You can preview some of the plans being offered. The "State Group Insurance Commission" button is on the upper right hand side of the home page on our website. EVERYONE must enroll. Failure to enroll by May 15th will result in a loss of insurance for you and your family until the next open enrollment period, in May of 2010. The GIC grants NO EXCEPTIONS! The Board had their regular February business meeting:• The Board reviewed four responses submitted to a Request for Proposal for Custodial Banking Services. The Board voted to accept the proposal submitted by State Street Bank and Trust Company, with whom the Board has been conducting business since July 2004. • In March, the Board will interview four companies that responded to a search for a Core-Plus Fixed Income manager. |
